# Auto converting

> Cover a withdrawal shortfall by converting other balances into the requested currency.

If the available balance for a withdrawal currency is insufficient, Cryptonly may still complete the withdrawal by converting other balances into that currency.

## How to enable it

Set `allowAutoConvert: true` on `POST /withdrawal/quote`. If the balance is short of `amount` plus the on-chain fee, the quote adds a conversion step first. The response includes an `autoConvert` breakdown (`fromAssetCode`, `toAssetCode`, `fromAmount`, `toAmount`) when this applies; `POST /withdrawal/commit` reuses the locked conversion from the quote.

If `allowAutoConvert` is omitted or `false` (the default) and the balance is insufficient, the quote fails.

Stablecoin-to-stablecoin pairs (e.g. USDT ↔ USDC) convert at 1:1 — see [Fees and commissions](https://docs.cryptonly.net/guides/fees-and-commissions.md).
